Just a thought.
I had this happen once.
Is the image displayed on your monitor with the long dimension in the
horizontal position (left to right)?
Then when you print, are you specifying a landscape orientation and allowing
the printer to rotate the image file?
Banding did occur on my Epson 1280 a couple of times under these conditions.
I rotated the image in Photoshop to the portrait position and printed in the
portrait configuration and the banding was gone.
I've been told this should not be, well what can I say.
It happened only a couple of times.
Good luck.

Kerik,
Just for the record, I do the alignment check on regular paper and
leave the paper setting thickness set to standard (0) for Pictorico.
However, Pictorico, at about.0065" thick, is almost twice as thick as
regular letter paper, which measures about .0035", so it would not
hurt to try Don' suggestion.
My primary hunch, however, is that you need to physically clean the rollers.
