These are by the same printer, Gerard (I forget the last name, starts with
A, but he's a Frenchman living in Cornwall, England) who printed the
spectacular photographs by David Stewart at the same gallery during the
summer. However, if you know what carbro is, and read the gallery
handout, you know he is NOT making carbros. It sounds like some kind of
carbon print, and it seems he makes the tissue himself. I've promised to
call him to try to prise out some more specific information, but have a
herd of ducks to get in a row first.
Meanwhile, agreed... his printing is magnificent and deserves wider
notice ...
