Several of the old books described fastening a print to zinc plate with
coat of shellac...then supposedly releasing it with alcohol, which is
probably what Kuhn did -- it was about that time. The most trouble I've
ever had with a print...To get it to actually come off, you have to have
polished that zinc as carefully as a dag plate... and in large sizes
doesn't stay flat very well anyway.

Same with dry mounting, likely to wrinkle in a large size -- the force of
nature is hard to beat with mere Seal mount.. And a rigid support is hard
to handle in large size... needs a huge tray -- and the print doesn't
develop from the back, which I find works better anyway. That is, if you
can't get most of the dichromate stain out, which you can't without
soaking the back, too, harder to judge what color you've got.
