Let me say the Epson 1640XL is superb scanner. If you purchase the Graphic
Arts version it comes w/SilverFast software (absolutely necessary for
scanning larger color negatives). It's platen is 12.2 x17 inches. The
resolution is magnificent and very easy to use.
