Ryuji,

You owe me a roll - your name is listed in my spellchecker. Every time I
encounter a new word I add it to the spellchecker since I am semi-dyslexic
(lazy). I just forgot to use it. (If you want to split hairs since I added
your name - forgo the roll.)

I pulled that price from the catalog they just sent me 2 months ago; so it
is possible the had an increase. I second Judy's caution about their prices;
some are great but most are rather high - i'll make an order from them one
of these days if I can find enough chemicals at decent prices to justify the
order.

Judy,

My spell check has cyanotype (two versions - Cyanotype and cyanotype). Same
goes for kallitype, chrysotype, talbotype, ect... It even has the English
(British) spelling of most words like color (colour). Do I get a roll of
your precious AXP25 also?

The strength issue of Glyoxal is noted. As also noted earlier, the problem
may arise from oxygen in the water used to dilute it or from other chemicals
or contaminants (residue in the container). I found that I had to wash my
glass and plastic bottles in dilute hydrochloric acid to get rid of
manufacturing residues. My water mixer system incorporates 2 check valves
that aerate when the water is on at less than 1.5 gpm. I simply play it safe
by removing any air from liquid containers with nitrogen. I have found that
"datatainer" bottles create a vacuum (the sides collapse) when I add
nitrogen. A small (20 lb) bottle cost me 5.99 and has lasted 6 years (still
4/5 full) even though I use it every day.

Anybody,

Speaking of AXP25, has anyone tried Maco Up 25 (Freestyle) or Efke 25
(Denmark)? Both are said to be replacements for the AXP25. Looking at the
Photoimpex website ( http://www.fotoimpex.de/Home/films/films.html ), they
list the Efke 25 at about 17,50 Euros for 10 rolls. Equating that to USD, it
works out to about 17.50 USD for 10 rolls or 1.75 USD per 36 exp roll (plus
shipping - the killer). The last quote I got for them was about 840.00 USD
for 400 rolls.

Thanks all,

Scott Wainer
