Having just emptied 3 cartridges on an Epson 960 I decided to open one up
and see how much ink is really left.

Using a 10 ml graduated cylinder I managed to get 3.8 ml of ink out of the
cartridge. Looking at the amount on my hands & work surface I'd say there
was actually a generous 4 ml of ink left in the cartridge. I didn't measure
the capacity of the cartridge but would guess its about 10 ml. Maybe someone
from Epson could verify that.

So yes you can't use all the ink in the cartridge. On the other hand Epson
specifies the number of pages per cartridge (440 pages graphic (5%
coverage)¹ ) not how much ink is in the cartridge.

Now for my more immediate problem. Does anybody know how I can get the ink
off my hands?
