HI Henry,
My favorite way to mix pigment is this one:
I use a palette knife on a glass plate.
and for example with lamp black, I mix 1gm of it with 2ml of glycérine, 1ml
of alcool and I add some gum.
Then I add the gu to the desire pigment gum ratio
