That's another use of the digital camera... to copy text that can't be
xeroxed, or even when it can, where there's too much red tape involved.
Then it could be printed, scanned and OCR'd to make available -- assuming
it isn't too burned to be readible.

True, this can be done with analog camera, as I used to see folks doing
before the NYPL photo annex had copy machine.(Mostly we took notes
longhand.) But digital camera is easier.
