Thanks to all who provided answers. I realize that I
forgot to mention that I want to make whole plate dags
(size 6 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches). This is the max size I can
make with my current sensitizing and developing equipment.

I'd rather avoid tryng to build my own camera, as my
woodworking skills and tools are limited.

Two group members recommended the russian FKD cameras. They
do seem like a great deal, even with shipping from Russia,
but the drawbacks are that they come in 5x7" and 8x10" sizes,
no movements and apparently limited bellows draw. I'm interested
in doing close-ups so bellows length is important to me.

Thanks to Bob Schramm for the advice regarding the fast lens.
it is true that considering the slowness of the dag plates,
two extra stops can mean a lot of time. BTW I'm not aware if
anyone has experimented on the reciprocity of dag plates for
long exposures?

Also thanks to Ryuji for his experience with a dry plate camera
and lens advice. This Fujinon W 180mm f/5.6 seems very nice
indeed.

I still don't know what route to go... I'll keep watching eBay
and maybe the ideal camera will show up. thanks again to all.
