Reporting back to the list:
I had a question a few days ago about yellow stain on the enlarged
negatives made by the reversal process on the ortho lithio film. As Ed
suggested the stain is related to incomplete clearing before final
redevelopment. Fresh clearing bath as well as long washing helps. Good
news is that the stain has very little printing density. This suggested to
me that it might be a stain made of fine silver particles and therefore
easy to clear. Indeed a short wash in a Farmer's reducer followed by a
fixer removed it completely. But as I noted before it adds very little UV
density, so unless the stain is very dark it is not worh messing with.
