Mark I don't know Epson's version of Somerset Velvet but the sample that Inkjetmall had sent to me (around 2 years ago, it wasn't Epson version but the original I presume) was weak in dMax (with piezotone selenium inks). How's dmax of Epson inks on this paper?

There are hundreds of papers one can try. Three of my favorites are Arches Infinity, Epson Velvet Fine Art Paper, and Somerset Velvet for Epson.
