You need the ferricyanide. Exposure to light reduces it to
ferrocyanide. When you start with the ferrocyanide no reduction can
take place.
(NL)terminology:
Potassium Ferricyanide = Kaliumhexacyanoferraat(III) or (old name)
Rood bloedloogzout.
Potassium Ferrocyanide = Kaliumhexacyanoferraat(II) or Geel Bloedloogzout.
