Mark: They were at the Maya Polsky Gallery, 215 W. Superior. Normally, this gallery is for paintings only, but they had a full show of prints by John Stewart that closed on December 31, 2003. They still have some of his prints hanging plus some other photographic/painting mixes. It is the John Stewart charcoals that intrigued my spouse (and, therefore, me). Jim

I went to a gallery today in Chicago (not Catherine Edelman's gallery where there are some photogravures) and saw some "charcoal" prints. They were somehow related in the writings sitting around to Fressons. Since my spouse liked them, I thought I should find out the process. Anyone have any exprience or know what it is? Is it carbon printing? TIA. Jim
