Thanks for the suggestion but the article was was definitely not in
View Camera. Wish it were because I have an almost complete
collection of the magazine.

It was, as I recall, in one of the Darkroom magazine, maybe Darkroom
and Camera or Darkroom Techniques, and came out just a few years
after Phil Davis introduced the idea of the BTZS types tubes.

Though maybe Carl Weese might have the information since I think he
was a contributing editor to one of these magazines?
