I have been using sod benzoate in gum for a couple years now. Works very
well and keeps the gum "fresh and nice" smelling for at least a year. I used
formaldehyde before but this may have a slight hardening effect on the gum.
My gum solution: 200 gr powdered gum, 5 gr sod benzoate to 850 ml destiled
water.
