It's actually quite compact when it's folded up. And only $3.50 too!
Magnifiers like this are designed to focus the surface on which the
magnifier is placed. When used against your ground glass, the image plane
is on the OTHER side of the glass. Depth of focus will probably be
acceptable but it's something to keep in mind if you find a magnifier
that doesn't seem to work for your purposes.
