I have had them from an uncle in the business years ago - and at one time
Epson handed out cheap plastic ones as freebies. They're fine for linen and
I found them great for examining postage stamps in my collection but
useless for large format. The questioner needs a good loop of such
magnification that's comfortable for her working habits. For me, a six-X has
been right. Joachim

It's actually quite compact when it's folded up. And only $3.50 too!

Magnifiers like this are designed to focus the surface on which the
magnifier is placed. When used against your ground glass, the image plane
is on the OTHER side of the glass. Depth of focus will probably be
acceptable but it's something to keep in mind if you find a magnifier
that doesn't seem to work for your purposes.
