We have a 2200 at school and had a similiar experience with banding on
paper. For almost a year we had put many different types of paper through
the printer, no problem, then one day it started banding. I must say, the
Epson people were extremely helpful, troubleshot every which way and then
sent us a new printer. Banding still there. They finally suggested that we
use ONLY Epson papers, which we bought and voila, no banding. I don't know
if this is helpful but thought I would relate the story. I am still
mystified why the epson papers work, others don't and why it started out of
the blue. We haven't tried digital negs yet, but that is the plan soon.

For what it's worth,
