DEAR JONATHAN,
Sadly, I won't be able to attend. Do you plan to make the info from the
lecture available so that I may show it to some of my students locally who
ask, "What's the use?" when I tell them
that there are things about low tech that are just different than high tech.
                                        CHEERS!

Subject: Wednesday's Talk at UNH / Durham, NH

Greetings,

Wally Mason and I will be on the UNH campus (in Durham) at 12 Noon on
Wednesday giving a talk about the low-tech camera exhibition we curated last
winter and which is now showing in the Paul Creative Arts Center Gallery
there.

The exhibition showcases a dozen artist's work, roughly split between
pinhole and plastic camera users. While I had no work in the original
exhibition, four of my images are included in this traveling version. (The
show travels next to Baldwin Photographic Gallery at MTSU in Murphreesboro,
TN this fall.

The talk will center around issues in choosing to work with low-tech
equipment in this high-tech age. However, if there's time I will probably
share a few slide reproductions from my new body of work "Summer Ice" -
images of icebergs taken in Newfoundland last June (with my Diana cameras,
of course).

I hope to see some of you there!

Best wishes,

Jon
