In this instance that seems to be the case. But increased sensitizer volume
presumably creates a deeper layer and since I also assume the exposure time
was the same due to using a digital negative then the thicker senstizer
compensated or offset the effect of bronzing due to what was originally over
exposure of the print. IOW, presumably a shorter exposure with the original
scant coating volume may have resolved the bronzing.
Another theory is that possibly the increased volume of sensitizer allowed a
greater number of metallic molecules sink towards the paper, which
effectively reducing exposure much like dichromate sinking to the paper due
to gravity. <wink>
