One does lose patience when things go wrong but things do go wrong when
experiments are prepared based upon the wrong assumptions..

The first questionable assumption was that he exercise was worth doing at
all. Why did you pursue it when you expressed so strongly the view that Mike Ware
had got it wrong.

The second, in your experiment, was that using a coating where you give us
no idea of what thickness of coating or level of pigmentation you were using
,or how we were to measure that coating, meant that you were bound to failure
and that your results would be meaningless.

Neither did you question whether a single coating of heavy pigmented gum was
appropriate for the experiment.

Sandy has already expressed a view as to a lack of understanding as to how
the gum process works although he withdrew his comment in relation to
individuals. but his comment stands that matters are more complicated than you had
assumed.

I could go on but, given the first assumption, i do not wish to waste
everybody's time

i sympathise with your frustration and loss of patience.
