I am running the MK ink. I held on to my PK cart that came with the machine,
but early test suggest that MK sticks to the OHP just fine. I worry about
UV characteristics of MK, but not about density. I am just a rough beginner
in the diginegs .

Subject: Re: Digital Negs - breaking the rules
Eric,
I think I commented on the idea of trying to use just Light Black and Light
Light Black ink to make a negative and I thought it might lack density for
longer exposure scale alt processes.... Carlos wanted to avoid using the
matte black so he wouldn't have to change cartridges and waste ink...which
makes sense... but it would seem avoiding black all together and using just
color inks is a much easier way to go and you can get variations in density
easily....
I was playing with the R2400 K3 inks today and was able to get density
ranges from:
Lowest UV Density Range : Log .14 (base) - Log 0.64
Highest UV Density Range : Log .14 (base) - Log 4.00
This was without any of the black inks.

Mark, I am using my 4800 to run test and the first test negs looked pretty
good, at least to my eye. I haven't run but one print from an unadjusted old
family neg. It looks good. Carlos, Have you tried the ABW mode on the
printer without the RIP?
