Oh, great. You relieved me, I had started to question myself.

Regards,
Loris.

P.S. A short reply because I have to rush to the coach - in order to get
back home.

Hi Loris,
No, you weren't at all included in any of my remarks, but thanks for
taking the time to think about it and respond. My comment about the
arrogance of imposing one's preferences on the list community as a
whole was directed specifically at those who have actively tried to
limit the range of discussion topics, who have complained again and
again about discussions of alt-photo topics that they don't
personally find interesting, and more specifically, who have tried to
quash discussions involving test results or mechanisms of process.
You certainly weren't among the folks I was thinking of, and as a
matter of fact I don't recall your ever doing anything of the kind,
so I think you're off the hook.

But this is another example of how when you make a general criticism
without naming the people you're criticizing, innocent people will
mistakenly name themselves.

I wasn't criticizing your plan to compare the methods, at all; in
fact my earlier post on that subject should have made that clear.
When claims are made, the reasonable and professional thing to do is
test those claims and see whether you are able to substantiate them
or not. Either way, it's more data for the collective database. I
applaud that kind of professional response to Terry's provocations;
what I found annoying were the sort of juvenile catcalls and taunts
and giggles that were going on in the background, that were in fact
disrespectful if not outright insulting.

All the best,
Katharine
