I'd like to address a couple of the big points that were brought up
throughout the night. After this I'm done with this thread...maybe :)

Copyrights. A valid concern. But...as far as I know Nabble is doing
nothing illegal here. They index and archive mailing lists...lists that
are publicly available to view. Google does the _exact_ same thing. If
you're going after Nabble on copyright grounds, you might as well go after
Google too. Nabble is not in any way "stealing" or "hijacking" this list;
they are simply making it easier to view, just like Google makes it easier
to find websites.

Posting to this list through...Nabble may or may not be crossing some
legal lines, but my instincts say no they're not...they seem to have done
their research on the legality of it all (refer to their FAQ), so I'd
doubt they'd let the posting aspect slip.

>>Refer to FAQ #11 on nabble's site:
>>"But if a list owner feels unsure, and wants to restrict the posting to
>>only the list members, please send us an email and we will adjust the
>>posting policy accordingly." Problem solved.

Nabble asks
>that an e-mail be sent to them to restrict unrestricted access to another
list,
>yet you say access shouldn't be limited !?!?

David H, you took that out of context. I mentioned the FAQ for the folks
who don't want people to be able to post to the list through Nabble. I
was pointing out that our list members have a choice in that
matter...nothing to get so worked up about.

And for the record, I'm pretty indifferent about posting through Nabble;
if that's what everyone wants I won't argue. I can see pros and cons
either way.

What I'm in strong support of, however, is the accessibility that the
public now has to the information. Our posts are already out there
(easily found on Google), but Nabble makes them easier to find for
information junkies like me. I can't tell you how many times I've found
the information I was looking for in this list via Google.
