deep shadows with monochrome gum

Not only is it possible to get deep shadows with monochrome gum from a
single negative, it is simple and easy using strong non-staining pigments
 
I show students how to do this first on my gum workshops as it demonstrates
the relationship between strength of pigment and length of exposure.in the
building up of contrast.
