PS. Jeremy: where do you get formaldehyde?

Go to the pet store, 37% formalin is used as a treatment for fish with ich
and other parasites. Just make sure you don't get one that has malachite
green in it.
Malachite: Isn't that Frank McCourt's younger brother? (Heh ! Heh!) My daughter, BTW, had him (Frank) for English teacher at Stuyvesant High School, and when they held a sort of wake at a local bar, she brought along a couple of photos of him she'd taken in class but never printed, that I managed to print on my ancient 1160 (which she also sent to the local weekly). Of all the feats I've done or attempted in "alternative process," NOTHING earned her admiration/gratitude as much as simply printing those two 35 mm negs out of Photoshop.

(I'd say, go figure, except I try to avoid catch phrases :)

Meanwhile, many thanks for the info... We lack a lot of modern amenities but do have a pet store on Bleecker St. (Tho with 3 million dogs per square foot, all of them pee-ing on my stoop, how could we not? :)
