Risa,

Why not consider platinum palladium. Since 1989 I have been make
folding screens (platinum palladium photographs mounted in hardwood
frames.) I had a need to elliminate the space between the panels and
discovered how to print on fabric. I get excellent results. The fabric
I use gives better image quality results then any papers I use.
However, it requires about three time the amount of chemistry (3 x
cost)petermarshall@cix.compulink.co.uk (and the fabric aint cheep either).

A posibility for your application might be a platinum palladium print
made on the fabric and the fabric then wraped around the object. This
will provide a much better image than liquid light, unless that's the
look you want.
