A similar brush material might be what is called "white sablene". It is
a very fine white nylon available in many styles and widths. It is more
expensive than Witho's, but far less expensive than real sable and works
fine. I believe a 2 inch (about 5 cm) wide by 1 inch long chisel style
brush costs about $18. They seem to be availiable in most art stores.
I use the "white sabalene" brushes and have never had bristles come out
of them and have gotten excellent results for years. After use, clean
in distilled water, squeeze dry with a paper towel, and store in a light
tight bag.
