I spoke to Sura Steinberg about a year ago, at which point Palladio was
essentially out of business -- which I relayed to the list at the time. It
seems swallowing of small paper companies by large paper companies, and
resultant economies of paper production, as well as changes due to
environmental reasons, had left them without a paper that worked with
their coating process to their satisfaction, and the decision was made to
halt production until something suitable was found.

Even when a large company could provide a suitable paper, its "order to
make" was many times as much as Palladio could use -- for instance 50 tons
instead of 10 tons (figures theoretical & from memory). Palladio
continued to sell the light systems and vacuum frames, but may have sold
out since then. Also, Sura was having health problems which may have
continued.
