Yes, it's the same... moved on to the Historical Society after the Roth
Horowitz gallery. The Times "article" this week was I believe an
editorial essay. The Times also had an article on the show about 2 months
ago when it first opened at Roth Horowitz that I filed so carefully I
don't lay hands on it this minute.
That one, without the editorializing and with a haunting lynching photo
including happy spectators in foreground looking full-faced at the camera,
not at all ashamed to be seen enjoying the spectacle, was to me even more
affecting -- & why I mentioned it on the history list in the first place.
(Thereby leading to some strong sentiments about whether it was
permissible to view these in a gallery setting, etc. etc. etc., no need to
do that here -- see PhotoHistory archive !)
A book of the lynching photos is either published or to be published,
"Without Sanctuary, subtitle subtitle subitle." The collection was at
Emory University, I think goes back there, don't remember for sure.
