Dear Garimo,

Bob Mitchell, a writer for one of the photo magazines, invented and marketed (a long time ago, but not on the market now AFAIK) a grain focuser for just this circumstance: it was about 2 feet tall, and rested on a point rather than a stable base. I don't recall what it was called other than that it was the "Mitchell _______ grain focuser." You could probably, with some electronic legwork, find a used one to buy.

As a matter of fact, I just did a quick search on Ebay and found one up for auction (#330838618), ending in 3 days (from Monday night). The current bid is $7 US.

HTH
Mitch V.
