True, cy is very slow by modern standards. It is just about as slow
as salted paper. Yet salted paper and its relatives have been used
widely as recording material in cameras. So one may suspect that cy
has been used likewise. In fact, I have seen cy negatives from the
1880s. (Given their cheapness and easy processing, I could imagine
that they were used like polaroids nowadys ;-) But I don´t know
whether they are originals or contact copies from positives.

As to using cy as recording material in a pinhole camera (the
original question): that strikes me fairly masochistic indeed. But
then, why not?
