You could also use the techniques used for making plywood sinks- marine ply,
glass fibre/epoxy resin tape at the joints and edges, and an overcoat of
epoxy paint. Since these are also the materials and techniques used in
stitch-and-glue boatbuilding, a yacht chandler should be able to help.
