Sorry, by mistake I linked the URL to a pwd-protected FTP directory.
Let me just describe what you would have seen: part of a face. As
you zoom in again and again you find more and more detail reveiled --
much more than you are likely to need in the positive you aim at. (I
sometimes dazzle the uninitiated by displaying on screen the image
caught in the eye of a portrayed person ;-)

This is 1200dpi actual resolution. Interpolation goes up to 9600dpi.
The Agfa SnapScan scanner is one of the best selling scanners in
Germany. It gives excellent value for your money.
But, as I said, two caveats apply: (1) I scanned a positive contacted
from a 4x5 negative. I don´t know how the scanner performs on
negatives. Yet, with 4x5 I see little reason to go for negative
scanning. It is so easy to just do a quick contact on RC paper. The
contact doesn´t need to be perfect because with Photoshop you can
quickly adjust the final image to your taste or needs. (2) Having
the image _in_ the machine is one thing. Getting it _out_ again in
the desired quality is quite another thing. It is this part of the
story that is still fairly expensive.
