The reason Home Depot is good for wet plate is that one needs to make just
about everything and for construction it is THE place.

Wood and plywood to make cameras, plate holders, adapters to convert cameras
from dry plate to wet plate. Acrylic to construct the silver bath (and I use
it to make developing trays), pre turned wood legs to support your portable
dark room, Glass to cut for plates and to make ground glass, brushes for the
final cleaning of the glass just before pouring your plate, metal containers
to store you tin type coating material, a rubber tie down that I use inside
my darkroom to hold the silver bath at an angle while making sure it does
not tip over, misc. hardware to put everything together, single edged razor
blades, help full for cleaning collodion that made it to the wrong side of
the plate, glass cutter, Denatured alcohol I use in the developer, OH and
all the TOOLS!!! .

I am sure I forgot something

The nitrocellulose lacquer there is the wrong stuff.

It might be simpler and cheaper to coat glass with salted albumen then place
it in a silver nitrate bath to make it sensitive. No ether and only a little
alcohol required. Eggs are cheap. Albumen has no problem sticking to glass,
or probably anything.

..Hi Judy!
..
..I'd like to know what you or anyone finds at the DEPOT. Name
..price etc. I think there is a lot of room to experiment here. For
..me I'm not looking for the perfect picture, but to experiment
..with diffeent alt. processes. I'm considering coating glass and
..sensitizing it with Silver Nitrate, exposing in camera, then see
..if a develop, bleach, fog redevelop can be used to make one of a
..kind positives. Since this will work with conventional film and
..paper think it could work with this system. Any input from the
..chemistry side of the list? Will this work?
..
..i can imagine 11x14 hand coated glass plates with positive images.

..
..What is the name of the Osterman book?
..
..I think I missed a message.
