('binary' encoding is not supported, stored as-is) Hello!

I've been reading about the Becquerel-developed daguerreotype process. i'd like to do still lifes with conventional tungsten lights. is this process just sensitive to UV light, like most of the alt proceses? Would i need a UV rich light source, or just move everything outside?

Other than the book "COMING INTO FOCUS" is this proces discussed in any other sources?

Interestingly, when I was shopping the net for Iodine crystals, i found the price for 100g to range quite a bit. The process is very similar to a forensic fingerprinting process, and they sell the same amount of crystals for $24, half that of many alt photo sources.

Also it is used in for horses and probably can be purchased at a feed and grain store even cheaper. One WARNING is it is also used to make the drug "Meth" and you may get a knock on your door from the police if you purchase some. There are some frightening stories on the web about police going after people purchasing iodine crystals.

Mac
