Mac,
The exposures for the Becequerrel process are very long according to my sources. About 20 minutes or more using a source rich in UV. We use a red or yellow safe light so my guess is that tungsten lights would not work very well if at all.
I have been kicking around an idea for some time but haven't tried it yet. Around here you can buy a 175 watt mercury vapor arc yard light for about $35.00 complete with bulb. I wired up four of these units to the ceiling of my garage in order to use as a source for large alt process prints (see next issue of PFJ). I would think that two or three of these might make good lights for the daguerreotype process. If you decide to try this, keep in touch as I might be able to make some suggestions along the way.
Good luck,
Bob Schramm
