Hi Darryl,

My suspicion is that with Kodak Rapid Selenium toner, no matter the
dilution, VD (and Argyrotype, I imagine) gets BLEACHED a whole lot
more than it ever gets toned, or covered, by selenium. The lovely
golden color you get is probably akin to the lovely golden colors on
prints by street photo-vendors who rinsed them in same bucket of
water all day. Lovely, maybe. Archival, not the least.

The question is, what other form can selenium be used that does not
contain such high dosage of fixer? Any chemists out there who can
provide an answer? What if we buffer the solution, would it make any
difference?
