Well maybe. Yahoo spams the groups and sells the email addresses to
spammers. Yahoo just announced or hinted at that yahoo mail will be a
charged for. Do a google search on yahoo and mail and free. Not to charge
much, only 19.00 a year but the other services are next.

Not free anymore or soon not to be free. Yahoo has announced pay-for-play
on their games and their groups will be charged for soon. The name of their
game has been to "trap" a significant portion of their audience and then
hit them with charges once they are committed. The banner ads etc have not
been footing the bill so something has got to give.

I chose to pay a premium for a premium service. No one gets spammed no
banner ads, I don't sell the email list. I do make occasional email about
public events like APIS and PhotoArts Santa Fe. So far in the last year two
mailings.
