John, I am entirely lacking in sense of humor as is well known. So I'd be
much obliged if you'd explain the joke, which has, alas, escaped me. I'm
serious, really. You mean it's all a joke?

As for your hesitancy in learning gum... you have issues #1 through 5 of
P-F, I believe. That's all you need. On this I have ample testimony. Not
that one shouldn't also do oleobrom & bromoil, but I wouldn't expect them
to be EASIER.
