Re the rants on trash art. Personally, I find the Dadaist view very inspiring
and provoking when it comes to photo work using techniques which are
guaranteed to produce, all by themselves, controversial results i.e. if they
are not filed in the trash can. I met a Gum printer at a photo fair selling
his "failures" from an old cardboard packing box, while his "good" work,
mounted and framed, remained unsold. My latest Gum print has given me a snow
storm on a beach in mid summer which I feel should not be denied a viewing by
my regular patrons. The spirit of the times calls for a major shift in
tolerance. Don't feel ashamed if you can get some cash from selling trash.The
responsibility for elevating trash to art, or whatever, lies with those who
buy for cash.

P.S. Yesterday, I was mostly wondering what the little sparkling flecks in my
dried gelatine coatings were. Magic dust? ?
