Greetings from Big Wonderful Wyoming,

An interesting subject, thanks for bringing it up George. IMO, one should
not need an advanced degree in art history to understand or appreciate fine
art and photography.

The Billings Gazette, February 17, 2002, published a column by Dave Barry
under the headline "'Trash Art' in beholder's eye". Barry writes about the
Turner Prize, a "much-publicized prize awarded annually to a British
artist". The winner for 2001 was Martin Creed, whose entry was entitled:
"The Lights Going On and Off". This so-called artwork consists of lights
going on and off in a vacant room. Barry writes: "In other words, this guy
got 20,000 pounds for demonstrating the same artistic talent as a defective
circuit breaker", and "Frankly, I admire Martin Creed. He can do whatever
he wants, and the critics will declare that it's art, especially if it
annoys normal people".

Enjoy.

Best regards,
Dave Rose
