Clerc's Thiourea Gold Toner:
Gold Chloride (1% solution) 12.5 ml
Thiourea (1% solution) 12.5 ml
Tartaric Acid 0.12 gm
Distilled Water to make 250.0 ml
Sodium Chloride 5.0 gm
It is alleged to keep, though I can't vouch for this myself.
I was also taken with Sullivan's 1-2% citric acid with 5 drops of 1% gold
chloride.
It certainly sounds economical
