There is a formula for continuous tone images from Arista Ortho. It's called
Soemarko's LC-1. Search using Google and I'm sure you'll find the formula.
I used it to take pictures with an old Scovill Waterbury (5x8). This camera
used a lenscap for a shutter with several second exposures. This gives a
totally different look to photos, since you can only capture static objects.
Street scene photographs prior to about 1890 with the advent of the
instantaneous (1/10 sec.) shutter speeds looked like ghost towns with moving
horses, people and wagons invisible, or maybe ghostlike blurs. Try it.
