Just wanted to bring to the attention of the list that a new book on
photogravure has just been published. Called Copper Plate
Photogravure: Demystifying the Process, the book is co-authored by
David Morrish and Marlene MacCallum and is published by Focal Press.
ISBN # is 0-240-80461-9.
I made a small contribution to the book via a chapter on making
carbon tissue for photogravure work (Chapter 11 - Directions for the
Home Manufacture of Carbon Tissue for Photogravure Printing). The
carbon tissue formula recommended in the text is derived from a
series of tests that David and I carried out over a period of a few
months in an effort to make a tissue that approximated fairly closely
the Autotype photogravure tissue.
