Sandy estimated the cost of a kallitype at $3.50, but the size mentioned
now in this thread is 20x24 inches -- or 480 square inches. The size I
mentioned for Carmen's kallitypes was 24 by 30 inches -- 720 square
inches. So the price differential would be greater.

There's also the fact that when some folks say "experiment," they don't
mean just with a toner or developer. They mean with an image, a concept,
a visual idea or an aesthetic. My feeling is that in whatever quantities
you buy pt/pd, the cost is inhibiting to experiment. To quote Man Ray:
an artist has to have absolute contempt for his (in those days we
only had his) materials -- or words to that effect.
