Yep this is a serious handicap.

I agree. But my print was too flat and the curve I had used was the most
contrasty one among the other choices (the remainder curves are way
flatter than 2000P's platinum curve): a contradiction...

Yes I did: It was a 21 step tablet and it printed 100% as 100% but 0% as
75%...
I think this is mostly related to the media (Epson transparency). As I
cannot obtain Pictoric OHP here (Istanbul, Turkey) - I guess I will give
up the idea of digital negatives (until I find a service bureau with
reasonable prices) and turn towards lith film...
