Excellent, all of you! I am pleased to hear such sensible advice. On the
topic of people going over the top, we had our potassium ferricyanide in a
double container, while the dichromates were just sitting on a shelf -
anything with the word "cyanide" obviously being extremely dangerous!

Absolutely.
 
 
Some chemicals are particularly nasty. For example hydrofluoric acid. It is
recommended that if you are using that particular acid, you inform your
local paramedics so they know how to handle the acid. Especially since it
can cause burns that go deep and to the bone. Sores that never properly heal
unless there is proper medical intervention.
 
 
Always read the MSDS.
