Oh good grief... we're not supposed to talk politics here, so I won't
speak any "French" about the axxhxxxx who thought that up, but here's a
hint -- the same folks who started the whole thing to start with. For the
record, however, I saw only one place (tho this is NY), that actually went
along with it. I was photographing (what else? T-shirts) at Coney Island,
July, 2004, starving for some French Fries ... the place at hand listed
"Freedom Fries" and I would have gagged on themn. Finally found
Nathan's...not as good as the old days, but at leat they called them by
their rightful (silly) name! Incidentally, for those interested in
photographing New York, Coney Island has had lots of photogenic new /old
signs and constructions -- and of course the --- help me someone (it's
6:50 AM, time for bed) is it the Miss Mermaid parade? Friends and
students have photographed it for years, and it is swell (assuming you're
into piercing, tattoos, and scaly tails).
