Ziatype "prints out" *fully*. The image appears completely during
exposure (though you have to learn to judge the image itself separate
from the orange color of the sensitizer coating) and there is no
development step, you just rinse and clear. This means that each print
serves as its own real-time test strip, and that you gain the advantage
of self-masking during exposure to handle extremely long-scale
negatives. The result is the same physical product as a
platinum/palladium print made in the traditional manner, except that a
broad range of new color effects are possible.
